So, instead of taking two full weeks off unpaid over Christmas shutdown, I ker-wrangled working six of the ten days, and two of them are paid holidays anyway. So what does this mean? I'm going to be able to take the time off to go to FC again this year.
Unfortunately, I won't be able to go for a week and a half like last time, just Thu (or Wed., am debating) till Mon., but I'm going!
Still need to find a room (several prospects, so I'm not too worried) but I do need to figure out how to get from the airport to the hotel, and such, since it's not 'attached' anymore.

So! Who's going? Who can get me to and from the airport? :3

I subscribed to Netflix a little while ago, and am rather enjoying the abilility to rent Blu-Ray movies from them. It's funny, because at first I thought I'd get it and just watch Instant movies, but it turns out there's only a few on there I want to see, whereas most of my queue is avaliable on BD and not for Instant Viewing. But all the better for me, as video stores want $4/5 for a two night rental, and if I watch a movie on Netflix and send it right back, I'm playing ~$11/mo. for 6-8 movie rentals a month, and whatever I want to watch Instant on top of that. Sounds like a good deal to me!

Anyway. Anyone watching me on here on Netflix? I'd like to add some more people to my Friends so I can find other movies, and stuff.
Add me! (and give me your link so I can add you back!)

Had a rather nice drive, actually, despite it being about 12 hours each way, putting a total of like 1.6k miles on my car.
So quite a bit has happened so far, I guess. I got a new laptop (Eee PC 1000H), a new phone and my own phone service (HTC Fuze on AT&T), and started my co-op job full time. Everything is working well so far.
I'm most likely going to Wisconsin over a week layoff period in April, I'm going to FCN a couple weeks after, and since we already have work off due to plant shutdown, I want to go to AC if I can find someone to stay with. MFF is also likely, as is FC next year.
Not too bad, so far.

Looking for a phone

So here I am, finishing my co-op position. Two weeks off (mostly going to be spent in California as vacation) then back to work in the same position, as a contractor. It's likely that I'm going to move out, and since I'm going to be able to afford it I'm going to get my own phone service.
I have a Motorola RAZR2 on Verizon right now, and it's not too bad (far better when flashed with alternate firmware rather than Verizon's own crap) but I want to consolidate some of my electronics, so I'm selling my iPAQ 111 (and probably my current phone, too) to get a proper smartphone.
Now, I've been wanting a smartphone for a long time, but now that I'm serious about it, I've been looking directly at plans. Finding a model isn't too big an issue, but the plans are. This is what I have so far:

Service

Home coverage

Upstate coverage

Monthly costs

Phone

WANT rating

Phone cost

Verizon

Great EVDO

Decent 1x (good data roaming)

 $30 for data
+ $10 for 500 texts
= $40/mo (Family plan)

HTC Touch Pro

2/5 (VZW suckage as usual)

$250 [Amazon]

Alltel

EVDO

Unknown, possibly all EVDO? (At least 1x)

$70/mo for 500 minutes + my circle, and unlimited data
+ $8 for 400 texts
= $78/mo

HTC Touch Pro

2/5 (Too expensive)

$280 [Direct]

AT&T

Good EDGE

Probably GPRS

 $40 for 450 minutes
+ $5 for 200 texts
+ $30 for data
= $75/mo

I'm tempted to go with Sprint due to them being all-inclusive at $70, which is just about the going rate for only voice and data on other carriers. I don't like that there isn't much data coverage higher north, but I doubt I'll be traveling that way much anymore anyway. I'd like to get a G1 but T-mobile sucks around here.. so I'm kind of tossed up between a HTC Fuze on AT&T or (basically the same model) HTC Touch Pro on Sprint.

So, I just booked my tickets to go to Cali, from Jan 15 to the 26th. Visiting some friends just in time to end the trip with FC! And as soon as I get home, I'll be starting my job as a full time employee instead of just a co-op student. Yay!

I do kinda need a room, though! Help would be appreciated.

Use Firefox and FurAffinity? Try FurAffinity Extender!

It's been a long time since I started the project, but finally, my Firefox extension, has gone public. What does that mean for you? That means anyone who uses Firefox, can install the extension from addons.mozilla.org without having to be signed up! So I can finally get my extension to the masses.

What does FurAffinity Extender do?
* Adds a download button to image pages
* Adds an 'open folder' link to image pages to open the folder it's saved to
* Adds an open gallery or submissions page in tabs link to open up all images in a gallery or submission page at once (with optional delay to avoid timeouts)

There's more features to come, I've been busy with work and school but I keep making sure FA's site changes and Firefox upgrades don't break the extension.

Interested? Download it from the Firefox Add-ons site, or, from inside Firefox 3, go to Tools -> Add-ons -> Get Add-ons and search for "FurAffinity Extender"!
If you're curious how to use it, there's a tutorial at the project's webpage.

If you find a bug, please file a bug report! The link is available from the project site. And if you use it, tell your friends!
